All campuses of Arkansas Tech University will operate virtually on Wednesday, Jan. 17, in order to provide for the safety of students, faculty and staff.
Students are encouraged to check Blackboard for class syllabi and any other information provided by their faculty members so they can be prepared for the beginning of the semester.
There will be no in-person classes or operations on Wednesday. Some essential operations, including food service, public safety and facilities management, will remain available in order to serve residential students on the Russellville campus.
Chambers Cafeteria will be open from 7:30-9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 4:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Baswell Techionery concepts We Proudly Serve Starbucks (8 a.m.-10 p.m.), Jerry’s (8 a.m.-10 p.m.), Slim Chickens (10 a.m.-9 p.m.) and Which Wich (10 a.m.-8 p.m.) will also be open on Wednesday.
The food service operation in the Hull Building Student Union will be closed on Wednesday.
Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center will be open from 7 a.m.-9:15 p.m. Wednesday. The Hull Building Student Union will be open from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Wednesday. The ATU Department of Residence Life will be staffed from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday.
Dr. Russell Jones, ATU interim president, said it is anticipated that Arkansas Tech will return to normal operations on Thursday, Jan. 18. A final decision concerning Thursday will be made and communicated on Wednesday.
