As the countdown to the 2024 Great American Eclipse continues, the Arkansas Tech University emergency management and homeland security program and Main Street Russellville are working together to help educate the community about what will happen on and around Monday, April 8.
The Ready Russellville eclipse preparedness event is scheduled for Saturday, March 9, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Depot Park in Russellville Downtown. This family-friendly gathering will be free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served with sponsorship from First Security Bank.
The event will help citizens become eclipse ready with information, training and demonstrations. Local first responders, the American Red Cross, the Arkansas Astronomical Society, Friendship Services, experts on Americans with Disabilities Act compliance and others are scheduled to be in attendance.
