Two members of the Arkansas Tech University community have collaborated on a short film that analyzes the creative process.
“In Order to Write” is a documentary that was filmed, directed and edited by Heath Whorton.
Whorton’s day job is emergency manager in the ATU Department of Public Safety. He also owns Whorton Photo and Film.
The film focuses on the daily activities of Eli Cranor and how that schedule allows him to pursue his potential as a writer. Cranor has earned national acclaim for his novels “Ozark Dogs” and “Don’t Know Tough.” He joined the ATU College of Arts and Humanities as writer in residence and instructor in the ATU Department of English and World Languages beginning with the fall 2023 semester.
