The state of Arkansas Tech University baseball has never been stronger.
The Wonder Boys earned a share of the 2024 Great American Conference regular season championship, reached the championship round of the 2024 GAC Tournament and advanced to the 2024 NCAA Division II Tournament.
It was the third regular season conference title for Arkansas Tech baseball since 2014 and the program’s third NCAA Tournament appearance in the last four years.
Head coach Dave Dawson and the Wonder Boys completed the 2024 season with an overall record of 38-20, which represented the second-most wins in a single season in ATU baseball history.
The defining moment of the 2024 Arkansas Tech baseball season took place on the final day of the regular season at Jerry Moore Field in Searcy.
With his team in need of a win over Harding University to secure a share of GAC regular season title, ATU pitcher Will Horton delivered five and two-thirds of shutout relief to lead the Wonder Boys to a 9-5 victory.
Horton allowed just one hit, while ATU first baseman Logan Schwenke went 2-for-5 with three runs batted in as Arkansas Tech clinched its 11th regular season conference championship in baseball.
