Arkansas Tech cross country team member Kaitlin Bounds finished second in the University of the Ozarks Invitational at Clarksville on Saturday.
Bounds (photographed) covered the 5-kilometer course in 19 minutes, 32 seconds, which was just four seconds behind meet champion Mary Jones of the University of Dallas.
The Golden Suns finished fifth in the team standings.
Kayla Waldrup (11th, 20:30), Cheryl Fleming (35th, 23:05), Katherine Selman (44th, 24:39) and Monika Montoya (45th, 24:41) also ran for the Suns.
Arkansas Tech is scheduled for a home meet on Saturday, Oct. 6, beginning at 9 a.m. on the fields outside Tucker Coliseum.
