Southwestern Oklahoma State outlasted Arkansas Tech in a decisive fifth set to defeat the Golden Suns 3-2 in Great American Conference volleyball at Rankin Williams Fieldhouse in Weatherford, Okla., on Saturday.

The Bulldogs won the match 25-20, 23-25, 18-25, 25-16, 18-16.
Back-to-back kills by SWOSU’s Joey Collins and Lindsay Dusin broke a 16-16 tie and ended the match. The Golden Suns had two match points earlier in the fifth set, but Southwestern Oklahoma State was able to turn both away and rally for the win.
Collins had 15 kills and Dusin notched 12 kills for the Bulldogs (11-18 overall, 9-4 GAC).
Arkansas Tech (23-9, 9-3) was led by Brittany Ryan with 17 kills and four blocks.
Kaitlyn White recorded 13 kills, Sara Motsinger made 12 kills, Amber Cerrillos was credited with 45 assists and Kaci Jackson had a double-double (11 kills, 15 digs) for the Golden Suns. Morgan McKellar added a team-high 17 digs.
Tech will face Henderson State for a 7 p.m. GAC match at the Duke Wells Center in Arkadelphia on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
The Golden Suns’ final home match of 2012 is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 8, against Southern Arkansas. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. Admission to Tucker Coliseum will be free.
