ATU Tourism Program Shows Leadership at Conference

ATU Delegation to 2024 Arkansas Recreation and Park Association Conference
Arkansas Tech University faculty and student representatives at the 2024 Arkansas Recreation and Park Association Conference posed for a group photo.

Arkansas Tech University students and faculty members were recognized during the 2024 Arkansas Recreation and Park Association Conference Sept. 25-27 in Jonesboro.

ATU students Abby Cutsinger of Fort Smith, Haylee Ledford of Mayflower and Kristin Melville of Beebe were announced as recipients of Arkansas Recreation and Park Association scholarships.

Dr. Cathi McMahan, ATU professor of tourism, and Dr. Jay Post, ATU associate professor of tourism, were elected to the Arkansas Recreation and Park Association Board of Directors.

Dr. Michael Bradley, ATU associate professor of tourism and head of the ATU Department of Agriculture and Tourism, joined McMahan and Post in facilitating a variety of presentations at the conference. Those presentations related to the future of recreation and park administration, land management, the Arkansas Trail Management Institute and therapeutic recreation.
