Arkansas Tech University announced the establishment of the Joy Miller Endowed Golden Suns Scholarship during its home volleyball match at Tucker Coliseum on Monday, Nov. 4.

The scholarship will be presented on an annual basis to a deserving Golden Suns student-athlete.

Monday’s match was designated as Joy Miller Night at Tucker Coliseum. Arkansas Tech players wore orange ribbons in memory of Miller, who passed away at the age of 75 on June 14, 2024, following complications from her battle with cancer.

Miller could often be found on the front row at a wide variety of Golden Suns and Wonder Boys games, including those played by the Arkansas Tech volleyball team. The Golden Suns were victorious on Joy Miller Night, defeating the University of Arkansas-Monticello 25-14, 25-14, 25-17.
