David Spicer has been promoted to instructor and program chair for law enforcement at Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus.
Spicer has served as a public safety officer at ATU-Ozark since 2014. His responsibilities included campus patrol, emergency response, report documentation and providing first aid. He added the duties of facilities maintenance supervisor at ATU-Ozark in October 2020.
“We are pleased to welcome David to our teaching faculty,” said Dr. Sheila Jacobs, ATU-Ozark chancellor. “His hands-on experience and dedication to public safety will be invaluable to our students as they prepare for careers in law enforcement and public service. His promotion reflects Arkansas Tech University’s commitment to providing students with instructors who not only teach, but also bring real-world experience into the classroom.”
A two-time ATU graduate, Spicer holds a Master of Science degree in college student personnel and a Bachelor of Science degree in business. He is certified as a law enforcement officer and a law enforcement instructor by the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training.
Spicer completed Leadership Tech as a member of cohort two and later gave back to the professional development program as a team facilitator.
“It is an honor and a privilege to have this opportunity, and I look forward to this next chapter in my career,” said Spicer.
