Arkansas Tech University has scheduled a series of preview days during the spring 2025 semester that are designed to help high school seniors plan for post-secondary academic success.

ATU Focus Days are planned for each Thursday from Jan. 30-Feb. 20. They are open to all high school seniors and their parents or guardians.

Registration is open at www.atu.edu/focusdays.

“ATU Focus Days are immersive preview experiences on the Arkansas Tech campus,” said Dr. Valerie Breashears, ATU director of admissions. “Each academic college hosts a designated day, allowing for students interested in majors from that college to explore their chosen field of study more in depth. Attendees are encouraged to attend the ATU Focus Day that more closely relates to their academic areas of interest, but they are welcome to attend any day that fits their schedule.”

The series will begin with an ATU Focus Day hosted by the ATU College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) on Thursday, Jan. 30. Subsequent ATU Focus Day events will feature the ATU College of Business and Economic Development (Thursday, Feb. 6), the ATU College of Arts and Humanities (Thursday, Feb. 13) and the ATU College of Education and Health (Thursday, Feb. 20).

Student participants in ATU Focus Days will attend classes, eat lunch on campus, engage in campus life and schedule an academic advising appointment.

Parents and guardians will attend sessions about financing college, campus safety and the surrounding community. They will have opportunities to visit with faculty members in their students’ areas of interest and ATU staff about their students’ next steps in the admissions and enrollment process. Lunch will also be provided for parents and guardians.

Students and parents/guardians who attend ATU Focus Days on Jan. 30, Feb. 13 and Feb. 20 will receive complimentary tickets to the ATU home basketball doubleheaders at Tucker Coliseum on those evenings.
