Eligible students who will be first-time freshmen at Arkansas Tech University in fall 2021 are invited to apply for the ATU Summer Bridge Experience.
The five-week commuter program will immerse incoming ATU freshmen in on-campus, socially-distanced activities that could lead to the completion of seven hours of college credit. It will be offered at no cost to participants. Friday, April 9, is the deadline to apply.
“The ATU Summer Bridge Experience helps graduating high school students acclimate to college life, build connections and overcome concerns about going to college by placing them in a friendly, caring environment,” said Dr. Jeanine Myers, ATU interim assistant vice president for student success and head of the ATU Department of Mathematics.
Preference will be given to applicants from low-income backgrounds who have a demonstrated need for assistance in mathematics and live within commuting distance of the ATU campus in Russellville.
Twenty-five students will be selected for inclusion in the 2021 program, which is scheduled for June 1-July 2.
