The Arkansas Tech Museum will present the annual Art and Architecture Exhibit Opening Reception on Thursday, March 11. The opening reception will be from 4-6 p.m. in Gallery Three of the Arkansas Tech Museum, which is located in the Techionery (photographed.)
Each year a historic building on the Arkansas Tech campus is the featured building in the exhibit, and this year the Home Economics Building will be the featured facility.
The Home Economics Building was constructed in 1913 and was home to the Department of Art until the department moved into Norman Hall in 2006.
This is the second annual competition, and it is a cooperative effort between the Department of Art and the Arkansas Tech Museum. Students entering the cometition are enrolled in a watercolor class at Arkansas Tech, and they paint their version of the Home Economics Building. The paintings will be on display in the gallery until Wednesday, April 28.
