More than one hundred entering students and their parents were on the Arkansas Tech campus today for a TECH Knowledge Session.
Today’s orientation was one of six sessions being held throughout the summer to help students become familiar with the Arkansas Tech campus before arriving this fall.
During today’s session, Dr. Jason Warnick, assistant professor of psychology, spoke to students and parents in attendance about ways to be successful in college.
Warnick challenged students to develop good study habits and find what method of studying works best.
Warnick also discussed ways students retain information and pitfalls to avoid in college.
Following Warnick’s presentation, the students and parents attended separate orientation sessions.
During the student session, orientation leaders visited with students about ways to become involved on the Tech campus and services available to assist students.
There are two orientation sessions remaining for entering freshmen and two sessions for transfer students. See the session schedule.
Each TECH Knowledge session costs $25, and the fee includes an orientation t-shirt, meals and orientation materials. The cost also includes admission to a separate orientation session for parents.
