U.S. News and World Report has named Arkansas Tech University the No. 1 regional public university in Arkansas for the 2024-25 academic year.
It is the fourth consecutive year that U.S. News and World Report has recognized ATU as the top regional public university in Arkansas.
“Arkansas Tech University’s continued recognition as the No. 1 regional public university in our state is a reflection of our commitment to students,” said Dr. Russell Jones, ATU president. “We provide access by maintaining affordability and offering multiple entry points to post-secondary learning. We promote success by showing our students we care on a day in, day out basis and by working to provide them with the best facilities possible. All of that — plus the well-known quality of our programs, our faculty and our staff — makes Arkansas Tech a great choice for students.”
U.S. News evaluated nearly 1,500 U.S. four-year, bachelor’s degree-granting institutions on as many as 17 measures for its 40th rankings edition. Graduation rates, first-year retention rates, first-generation graduation rates, student debt rates and student-to-faculty ratio are among the factors included in the methodology.
“Now in its 40th year, the Best Colleges rankings continue to be a trusted source of information for students and their families,” said Dr. LaMont Jones, managing editor for education at U.S. News. “By considering factors such as social mobility and post-graduate success, we aim to help students choose schools that not only provide a quality education but also prepare them for a successful and fulfilling future.”
Founded in 1909, Arkansas Tech serves 9,062 students through campuses in Russellville and Ozark. ATU conferred 5,074 degrees and credentials during 2023-24 academic year, the most in a single year in ATU history.
