The Arkansas Tech University Choral Artists will provide a preview of their 2020 Arkansas All-State Music Conference performance during a concert on Tuesday, Feb. 18.
The ATU Choral Artists will perform at 7:30 p.m. at Witherspoon Auditorium, 407 West Q Street in Russellville. Admission will be free and open to the public.
Arkansas Tech is the only university choir that was selected to perform at the 2020 Arkansas All-State Music Conference, which will take place Feb. 19-22 in Hot Springs.
Dr. Christopher Harris, assistant professor of music and director of choirs at ATU, said the program includes various languages and cultures. He programmed pieces composed by women of color as a means of spotlighting diversity.
There will be a bonus performance at Witherspoon Auditorium Tuesday night featuring the Conway High School Camerata choir.
The CHS Camerata is the lone high school choir selected to perform at the 2020 Arkansas All-State Music Conference.
Sam Huskey, director of the CHS Camerata, will lead his singers in a 7 p.m. performance in advance of the ATU Choral Artists’ appearance at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
