Arkansas Tech University Counseling Services stands ready to assist students who are experiencing mental health challenges.
“The team in ATU Counseling Services understands that this can be an especially difficult time to be a student, and we want ATU students to know we’re here to help,” said Kristy Davis, associate dean for student wellness and counselor at Arkansas Tech. “We have plenty of available appointment times for students and we would love to hear from you if you’d like to call and request a counseling appointment.”
The in-take process begins with a brief consultation with a counselor. Follow up includes providing the student with information about continuing services.
“Most of our sessions are being held virtually through the use of Webex or phones, and we’ve heard from many students who have been pleasantly surprised with the effectiveness of telehealth counseling visits,” said Davis. “We understand that some situations may warrant a face-to-face visit and we will evaluate that when you call. We hope that you’ll reach out to us with any mental health concerns including relationship difficulties, stress, problems with mood, academic struggles, anxiety or any other concerns you may have. Our team looks forward to visiting with you.”
