Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus hosted a retirement reception for Sandra Anderson, plant maintenance supervisor, on Thursday, Oct. 15.
Anderson began her career at ATU-Ozark while working part-time in facilities maintenance while taking classes in the cosmetology program.
She became plant maintenance supervisor in 2007, and over the next 13 years she was integral in the construction and opening of the Allied Health Building, the Student Services Conference Center, the Health Sciences and Wellness Building and the walking trail around the perimeter of the campus.
A member of the Central Association of Physical Plant Administrators and the Arkansas Association Facilities Administration, Anderson holds a technical certificate in cosmetology from ATU-Ozark.
She has supported such causes as the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship, the United Way of Fort Smith and Angel Tree projects across the Arkansas River valley.
Anderson plans on traveling and building a new home with her husband, Donnie, and spending time with her children and grandchildren in retirement.
