Bands, Choirs to Provide Family Day Entertainment

Arkansas Tech University will present its instrumental and choral music programs for a Family Day concert at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville on Saturday, Sept. 14.

The performance will begin at 2 p.m. Admission will be free and open to the public. Production, lighting, video and sound will be provided by Larry Roberts of Red Bea Productions.

The ATU University Singers will perform a medley from “West Side Story” as well as “And So It Goes” as arranged by Bob Chilcott. The ATU Choral Artists will sing Jerry Rubino’s arrangement of “A Quiet Place” and a medley of Disney music arranged by Jamey Ray.

Jamie Williams, an ATU senior from Mountain Home, will offer a vocal performance of “I Am Changing” by Henry Krieger.

The ATU Symphonic Wind Ensemble is scheduled to play “A Mother of a Revolution” by Omar Thomas and “Lost Vegas” by Michael Daugherty.

The concert will conclude with a preview of the 2019 halftime show by the ATU Marching Band, “Arkansas’ Band of Distinction,” and a combined choir and band performance of “America the Beautiful.”

This will mark the second consecutive year that the ATU Department of Music has offered a Family Day concert at Tucker Coliseum.
