Arkansas Tech representatives met with representatives from across the state to focus on being healthy. In all, more than 100 gathered Tuesday for the Blue and You Fitness Challenge Kickoff at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock.
The challenge is designed to encourage employees to improve their health by exercising 30 minutes a day for at least three days a week, and this is the second year that Arkansas Tech has participated in the challenge.
During Tuesday’s kickoff event, participants were encouraged to work towards fitness and to find ways to make fitness exciting.
The challenge is set to begin Monday, and those wishing to participate have until Sunday to sign up. Go here to register to participate.
Organizers say there will be a kickoff event Monday in the Doc Bryan Student Services Building on the Arkansas Tech campus.
“We all benefit by taking a proactive approach to health, and we believe this program is a great way to get Tech faculty and staff excited about making health a priority,” adds Angie Reynolds, director of Human Resources.
