Southwestern Oklahoma State University earned a rubber match victory on Sunday to take 2-of-3 games from Arkansas Tech University in a Great American Conference baseball series at Weatherford, Okla.
The Wonder Boys (6-5 overall, 1-2 GAC) are scheduled to visit Northwestern Oklahoma State University for a three-game GAC series on Saturday, Feb. 24, and Sunday, Feb. 25.

Game One: SWOSU 6, Tech 2
Southwestern Oklahoma State starting pitcher Jake Cowan pitched eight innings and the Bulldogs took advantage of a fast start to defeat the Wonder Boys 6-2 in game one of a Saturday doubleheader.
Cowan (2-1) limited Arkansas Tech to two runs on nine hits while striking out seven.
SWOSU scored three runs in the top of the first inning on a two-run double by Brooks Benson and an RBI single by Daniel Richardson.
Cody Wescott and Riley Hickerson drove in one run apiece for the Wonder Boys.
Game Two: Tech 2, SWOSU 1
Hayes Cox tossed a complete game to lead Arkansas Tech to a 2-1 triumph over Southwestern Oklahoma State in Saturday’s nightcap.
Cox (2-1) allowed one run on three hits over seven innings. He recorded four strikeouts.
Kyle Gibbs scored on a wild pitch in the second inning and Hickerson delivered an RBI double in the third inning to account for the Wonder Boys’ offensive production.
Game Three: SWOSU 8, Tech 5
A three-run seventh inning by Southwestern Oklahoma State made the difference in a 8-5 Bulldogs’ win over Arkansas Tech in the series finale on Sunday.
Sawyer Toole broke a 4-4 tie and put SWOSU in front to stay with a two-run single through the left side in the top of the seventh inning. Benson later drove in Toole with a single to increase the Bulldogs’ lead to 7-4.
Brendan Peitsmeyer closed the door for SWOSU, pitching one and one-third innings of scoreless relief to clinch the series win for the Bulldogs.
Wescott was 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs for the Wonder Boys. Tech’s Britt Stroth went 3-for-4 and scored two runs.
