The Arkansas Tech University Department of Public Safety will conduct a test of the Campus Emergency and Outreach Notification (CEON) system on Friday, Jan. 18. “This is only a test of the CEON system,” said Joshua McMillian, chief of the Arkansas Tech Department of Public Safety. “The CEON system allows Arkansas Tech University to notify participating students and employees when emergency situations arise on campus.” If you are enrolled in the CEON system, you will receive an email, text and a phone call with the following message: “This is a TEST of the Campus Emergency and Outreach Notification System, this is only a TEST. There is no action required to be taken. Thank you for using the CEON system.” If you are signed up to receive emergency notifications through the CEON system and do not receive a message on Friday, Jan. 18, please contact the Department of Public Safety at (479) 968-0222 or via e-mail at dps@atu.edu. If you are not currently enrolled in this notification program, but wish to participate, information on how to sign up can be found here: https://support.atu.edu/link/portal/16084/16101/ArticleFolder/59/CEON “The Arkansas Tech University Department of Public Safety strongly encourages every member of the Arkansas Tech community to sign up to receive these alerts before the test date of Jan. 18, 2013,” said McMillian.
