Sandy Cheffer, chief fiscal officer for Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus, has accepted the position of director of budget and financial reporting at Arkansas Tech University effective July 1, 2017.
Cheffer has served as chief financial officer for ATU-Ozark for the past 13 years.
“Sandy has made a significant impact to the campus and university since joining in 2004,” said Bruce Sikes, chancellor of ATU-Ozark. “The Ozark campus has undergone significant enrollment and program growth as well as improved fiscal operations and personnel structure organization under her leadership. We appreciate Ms. Cheffer’s commitment to the Ozark campus and her commitment to Arkansas Tech University.”
Cheffer will succeed Linda Johnson, who joined the ATU Office of Budget as a budget specialist in 1992 and assumed the role of budget director in 1997. Johnson will retire on June 30, 2017.
Bernadette Hinkle, ATU vice president for administration and finance, expressed her appreciation to Johnson for her years of dedicated service and to the following individuals for their service as search committee members: Brandi Collins, Emily Billings-Bull, Heather Taylor, Laury Fiorello and Pat Chronister.
