Daniel Childers of Russellville has been named 2021 Arkansas Tech University Graduate Ambassador of the Year by the ATU Graduate College.
Childers is pursuing the Master of Science degree in health informatics at Arkansas Tech. He previously earned his Bachelor of Science degree in health information management from ATU.
Kaitlynn Beaird, graduate admissions officer at ATU, said Childers was selected for “going above and beyond when volunteering to help with our recruitment events.”
In addition to the ATU Graduate Ambassador program, Childers also holds membership in organizations such as Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, National Society of Leadership and Success, American Health Information Management Association Council for Excellence in Education student advisory work group and ATU Graduate Student Council.
Arkansas Hospice named Childers as its volunteer of the year in 2019. In 2020, he received the ATU Health Information Management Outstanding Student Award and ATU Student Support Services inducted him into its hall of fame.
ATU Graduate Ambassadors serve as official representatives of the ATU Graduate College and support potential graduate students by providing information, participating in recruitment activities and sharing their experiences at ATU.
Applications to join the ATU Graduate Ambassadors in fall 2021 will open July 1.
