Daniel Childers of Russellville was recognized by the Arkansas Tech University health information management program as the recipient of its 2020 outstanding student award.
“Daniel has worked very hard and maintained a very collaborative attitude,” said Dr. Melinda A. Wilkins, professor and director of the health information management and health informatics programs at ATU. “He’s also been a volunteer for community efforts, such as with hospice.”
Childers graduated from ATU in spring 2020 with a Bachelor of Science degree in health information management. He will continue his studies at ATU in fall 2020 by beginning work on his Master of Science degree in health informatics.
“Receiving the outstanding student award is a great honor and it reassures me that I am on the path of creating a legacy I can be proud of,” said Childers. “Most importantly, knowing my professionalism, positive attitude and eagerness to learn have been recognized by my peers and mentors means the most to me.”
