The Arkansas Tech College of Business will host Arkansas Tech alumnus Dr. Bill Hardgrave as the featured speaker at the Distinguished Lecture Series this evening.
Dr. Hardgrave will speak at 7 p.m. in Rothwell Hall Room 138 about the myths and realities of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID.)
Dr. Hardgrave is the founder of the RFID Research Center at the University of Arkansas, which is one of the leading centers for examining the business value of RFID. In 2008, the RFID Research Center’s lab was named by Network World as one of the “10 coolest labs” in the United States.
He also holds the Edwin & Karlee Bradberry Chair in Information Systems and serves as the founder and Executive Director of the Information Technology Research Institute at the University of Arkansas.
Dr. Hardgrave has received multiple awards for teaching and research, including the H.L. and Janelle Hembree Award for Outstanding All-Around Faculty in the Walton College of Business. In 2008, RFID Journal tabbed Dr. Hardgrave as “one to watch” for his impact on the field of RFID. He has also received the Ted Williams Award from AIM Global as the most influential researcher in the field of RFID.
