Dr. Jim Collins, professor of agriculture at Arkansas Tech University, has been selected as the 2015-16 Bridge to Excellence mentor of the year.
According to its web page, Bridge to Excellence “helps guide Tech freshmen as they transition to college by providing support, direction and the necessary resources for degree completion. ”
Collins has served on the Arkansas Tech faculty since 1983. He teaches courses in horticulture and directs Department of Agriculture plant sales at the end of the fall and spring semesters on an annual basis. He is also executive director of the Miss Arkansas Tech University Pageant.
