Community-Wide Movie Night at ATU November 3

Elemental 533

Arkansas Tech University will host a community movie night featuring the animated film “Elemental” on the new video board at Simmons Bank Field at Thone Stadium on Sunday, Nov. 3.

The gates to Simmons Bank Field at Thone Stadium will open at 3 p.m. There will be an inflatable bump-and-jump obstacle course on the football field beginning at 3 p.m. The movie will start at 5 p.m. Admission will be free and open to the public.

“We invite everyone in the Arkansas River Valley to be part of this community gathering at Arkansas Tech,” said Dr. Russell Jones, ATU president. “We want to bring people onto campus and share the resources that exist here with our friends and neighbors. It is my hope that events such as this will bring us closer together and demonstrate that Arkansas Tech is and wants to be a part of our community.”

Free popcorn and water will be served while supplies last. Attendees are invited to bring a blanket and sit on either the football field or the Buerkle Berm, which is located beyond the north end zone. Seating will also be available in the stadium bleachers.

Weekends are open parking days at ATU, so guests are welcome to park in any available spaces designated for parking. Vehicles parked in areas other than designated spots are at risk of being towed.

“Elemental” was released by Disney and Pixar in 2023. Rated PG, the movie is set in Element City and tells the story of the friendship between lead characters Ember and Wade. “Elemental” was nominated for the 2024 Academy Award for best animated feature film.
