The University of Arkansas-Monticello stopped Arkansas Tech University’s volleyball winning streak at 10 matches by defeating the Golden Suns 25-23, 25-11, 25-21 at Steelman Fieldhouse in Monticello on Thursday.
The Cotton Blossoms (5-11 overall, 2-3 Great American Conference) finished with a team hitting percentage of .261 (45 kills, 15 attack errors, 115 total attempts) while holding ATU to a team hitting percentage of .054 (24 kills, 18 attack errors, 111 total attempts).
The Golden Suns (11-6, 4-1) will visit Southeastern Oklahoma State University for a 5 p.m. match in Durant, Okla., on Friday, Oct. 11.
