In keeping with part of its mission of providing a quality learning environment, Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus soon will be hosting a full-time Energy Corps volunteer to help implement the development of a “green transcript.”
Applications for the position are due Monday, Nov. 14, and the job will last from Tuesday, Dec. 6, to Nov. 15, 2012.
Enthusiastic individuals 18 and older who work well in a team environment, can relate to individuals from diverse backgrounds, have sound organizational skills and a strong interest in energy conservation, community development and community organization are encouraged to apply.
A division of AmeriCorps, EnergyCorps members are placed within organizations in communities around the state to help achieve certain project goals. Arkansas Tech-Ozark will develop a green transcript that incorporates a number of eco-friendly focused courses and student/community projects.
Another duty of the position is to develop a baseline for energy usage by which campus improvements can be gauged, as well as robust campus initiatives related to energy conservation and sustainable practices, including enhanced recycling, a carpooling program, energy conservation on and off campus and integrated green practices in the curriculum.
