Fifteen organizations representing the Arkansas Tech University campus and the surrounding communities will participate in an Earth Day celebration at ATU’s Hindsman Tower on Monday, April 23.
The event will last from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Admission will be free and open to the public.
Dr. Douglas Barron, assistant professor of biology at ATU, said that a native Arkansas tree will be planted at 1 p.m. on the lawn between McEver Hall and Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center.
The Earth Day event at Tech is sponsored by the ATU Campus Environmental Coalition.
