Ross Pendergraft Library has taken steps to ensure that every Arkansas Tech University student on the Russellville campus will have access to the information they need to succeed in general education courses during the spring 2018 semester.
Brent Etzel, director of the library at ATU, said Pendergraft Library has added at least one copy of each textbook required for general education courses in spring 2018 to its holdings.
“These books are available at the circulation desk of the library for in-house use for up to two hours per checkout,” said Etzel. “The purpose of developing this collection is to provide assistance to students who may have financial difficulties that prevent them from being able to purchase textbooks at the start of the semester, and also to provide a service to students who may need short-term access to these resources.”
Etzel added that the ATU library staff will monitor the borrowing patterns of the textbooks and is prepared to purchase up to $1,000 worth of additional textbooks this semester to meet student demand.
