“Gathering of the Deans,” a panel discussion hosted by the Arkansas Tech University College of Education and Health, will take place on Thursday, April 17, at Hull Building Student Union.
Dr. Dennis Fleniken, Dr. Eldon Clary, Dr. Mary B. Gunter and Dr. Linda Bean, all of whom served as dean of the education school at ATU during their careers, will be the featured guests. The quartet gave a combined 125 years of service on the ATU faculty. All four have received the honorary professor emeritus title from the ATU Board of Trustees since their retirements.
Refreshments will be served beginning at 3:30 p.m. The panel discussion will take place from 4-5 p.m. and will be followed by an opportunity for those in attendance to ask the deans questions and interact with them.
“I will be asking them questions about changes they saw at the university during their time here, what they were most proud of that was accomplished in the college when they were the dean, a unique experience they recall and advice they would give to students who are preparing in education, health and/or leadership,” said Dr. Tim Carter, dean of the ATU College of Education and Health, when describing the panel discussion.
Admission to the April 17 event will be free and open to the public.
