Fourteen students will be vying for the title of Miss Tech on Friday during the 55 th annual Miss Arkansas Tech University Scholarship Pageant.
The pageant will begin at 7 p.m. in the Witherspoon Building Auditorium, and admission is $8 for adults, $3 for children or free for those with a valid Tech identification card.

The winner of the pageant will receive a two-semester tuition scholarship to Arkansas Tech and more than $3,000 in gift certificates and prizes from area businesses. In all, more than $16,000 in gifts and scholarships will be awarded to contestants competing in the pageant.
The Miss Tech Scholarship Pageant is an official preliminary for the Miss America Pageant, and Miss Tech will compete in the 2010 Miss Arkansas Pageant this July in Hot Springs. The Delta Zeta Sorority at Arkansas Tech sponsors the pageant, and Dr. Jim Collins, professor of horticulture, serves as pageant executive director and master of ceremonies.
Senior Naomi Shure of Alma (photographed) is the reigning Miss Tech, and she will crown the 2010 Miss Tech.
