Girls from across the River Valley will be on the Arkansas Tech Campus tomorrow for the Girls of Promise Conference.
Organizers say the conference is designed to “introduce eighth-grade girls to amazing women role models at a critical time” in their lives.
The conference is sponsored by the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas, and their mission is to “promote philanthropy among women and to help women and girls achieve their full potential.”
During the conference, fifty area girls will have the chance to participate in several workshops, listen to speakers and attend a luncheon. Organizers say the event will help “inspire girls to see the ‘big picture’ and prepare for their future.”
Mrs. Jill Brown, first lady of Arkansas Tech, serves on the board for the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas and helped bring the conference to the River Valley.
