Arkansas Tech University concluded its pandemic-shortened 2019-20 women’s golf season by finishing fifth in the Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational at Kickingbird Golf Course in Edmond, Okla., on Monday and Tuesday.
The Golden Suns posted team scores of 307 and 311 for a 36-hole total of 618. Rogers State University and the University of Central Oklahoma finished tied atop the team leaderboard with matching totals of 603. Rogers State won the team title in a playoff.
Jacqueline Klemm was ATU’s top individual finisher. She posted rounds of 75-77 for a 152 total and a share of 11th place.
Josie Roberson (T-14th, 76-77-153), Sydney Staton (T-20th, 77-77-154), Makenzie Douglas (T-37th, 79-80-159) and Katie Whitfield (T-55th, 85-80-165) also represented the Golden Suns in Edmond.
Arkansas Tech’s season was cut short on Thursday, March 12, when the Great American Conference, in accordance with measures taken by the National Collegiate Athletic Association, canceled the remainder of the 2019-20 athletic season due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
