Arkansas Tech University packed its hitting shoes for the 2020 Alvy Early Memorial Classic softball event on Saturday and Sunday in Bentonville.
The Golden Suns (6-6) rapped out 50 base hits over the span of four games and earned three victories in their final tune-up before the beginning of Great American Conference play.
Arkansas Tech will host Henderson State University for a four-game GAC series at the Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex on Friday, Feb. 21, and Saturday, Feb. 22.

Game One: ATU 17, Northwest Missouri State 10
Brooke Prewitt went 3-for-4 with five runs batted in to lead Arkansas Tech past Northwest Missouri State University 17-10 on Saturday.
Paige Mendoza drove in three runs for the Golden Suns, while Ashton Sangster and Paty Loredo recorded two RBIs apiece.
Maddy Prough (2-2) pitched a complete game for Arkansas Tech.
Game Two: ATU 10, Missouri-St. Louis 1
Complete-game pitching by Lexi Taylor and a grand slam by Loredo highlighted Arkansas Tech’s 10-1 victory over the University of Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday.
Taylor (1-0) limited the Tritons to one run on six hits. The game was stopped after five innings due to the mercy rule.
Tymber Riley went 3-for-3 with two RBIs for the Golden Suns.
Game Three: Washburn 6, ATU 4
Jenna Moore’s go-ahead solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning helped Washburn University top Arkansas Tech 6-4 on Sunday.
Jordan Hausher (1-2) earned the win in the circle by pitching three and one-third innings of scoreless relief.
Prewitt hit a two-run home run for the Golden Suns.
Game Four: ATU 13, Upper Iowa 5
Makenzie Addis hit a grand slam and Riley delivered a solo home run in Arkansas Tech’s 13-5 victory over Upper Iowa University in the classic finale on Sunday.
