Allie Weiner’s best round of the week helped Arkansas Tech University post a team score of 309 on Friday at the 2018 NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championships in Houston, Texas.
Weiner toured Bay Oaks Country Club in 2-over par 74 during the third round, allowing her to move up from a share of 66th place to a tie for 54th. She shot 80-83 during the first two rounds and has a total of 237 going into the final round on Saturday.
Pia Nunbhakdi and Peerada Piddon have been the Golden Suns’ top performers in Houston. Rounds of 72-76-77 have landed Nunbhakdi in a tie for 21st place with a total of 225. Piddon is tied for 25th. She has shot 71-78-78 for a 54-hole score of 227.
Holly Standing (67th, 82-82-80-244) and Avery Struck (71st, 84-82-87-253) round out Arkansas Tech’s representatives at Bay Oaks Country Club.
The Golden Suns are 11th among the 12-team field with a three-round team score of 932.
The University of Indianapolis will carry a 24-stroke lead into the final round of the national championships. The Greyhounds own a 54-hole total of 867.
Katharina Keilich of the University of Indianapolis leads in the individual standings with a three-day total of 2-under par 214.
