Christian Brothers shot 61 percent from the field in the second half and overcame a 13-point halftime deficit to upset the nationally seventh-ranked Arkansas Tech Golden Suns 78-72 at Canale Arena in Memphis, Tenn., on Monday night.
The Lady Buccaneers (14-5 overall, 5-2 Gulf South Conference) were 17-of-28 from the field in the second half as they rallied to hand Arkansas Tech (18-1, 5-1) its first loss of the 2009-10 women’s basketball season.
Sheena DeBose and Tameka Wooten led CBU with 19 points apiece.
Natalia Santos had 17 points and Katie Horsman scored a career-high 16 points for the Golden Suns.
The Golden Suns will visit Southern Arkansas for a 5:30 p.m. contest in Magnolia on Thursday.
