Pittsburg State University swept Arkansas Tech University 8-0 and 12-1 in a non-conference softball doubleheader at the PSU Softball Complex in Pittsburg, Kan., on Tuesday.
The Gorillas (28-23) got complete game pitching performances from Hilary Erbert (13-11) and Cheslyn Mitchell (6-2) as they completed a season sweep of the Golden Suns. Pittsburg State previously defeated Arkansas Tech 6-0 and 7-0 in a doubleheader at Russellville on March 13.
Maddie Roncketto and Victoria Huie had one hit apiece for the Golden Suns in their game one loss on Tuesday.
Chandler Touchstone drove in Tech’s only run of the day with a fifth-inning RBI single in game two. Her hit to left field brought Jessica Black home.
The Golden Suns’ overall record fell to 15-25 with their two losses in Kansas.
Arkansas Tech will conclude its 2012 softball regular season by visiting East Central University for a four-game Great American Conference series in Ada, Okla., on Saturday, April 21, and Sunday, April 22.
