Members of the Greek community will face off tonight in the annual Songfest competition. The event is part of the Greek Week festivities at Arkansas Tech, and during tonight’s event, each Greek chapter will present a song, dance or step routine. The routines will be judged on creativity and involvement of the crowd.
Cindy Tesch, coordinator of Greek life and student organizations, says the students have worked hard to make this a successful and entertaining event. Tesch adds, “These students have worked to plan the event, but they have also put in lots of hours to perfect their performances. I really hope lots of students come out to cheer on the members of our Greek community because they really have put a lot of time and effort into this event.”
Songfest is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. in Tucker Coliseum, but the doors will open at 8:30 p.m. The admission to attend Songfest is a $2 donation or a donation of four canned food items.
The funds collected during Songfest will be given to the philanthropy of the winning Greek organization, and organizers say all the canned items will be donated to a local charitable organization.
