Arkansas Tech will play the second game of the day on both Thursday and Friday in first-round women’s and men’s basketball action at the Gulf South Conference Tournament in Southaven, Miss.
The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns (25-2) will face the West Florida Argonauts (14-13) at 2:45 p.m. Thursday in the first round of the women’s tournament.
The Suns beat West Florida 73-70 in overtime on Dec. 30, 2008, in the most recent meeting between the two programs.
The Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys (26-1) will take on the West Georgia Braves (13-14) at 2:45 p.m. Friday in the first round of the men’s tournament.
The Wonder Boys are 1-0 against West Georgia this season. Five Tech players reached double figures in scoring and the Wonder Boys were plus-11 in turnover margin in an 89-70 win over the Braves on Nov. 30, 2009.
The Golden Suns closed out their regular season with an 81-59 win over Christian Brothers on Saturday night. The win allowed the Suns to earn a share of the GSC West Division title and a No. 1 seed in the GSC Tournament.

The Wonder Boys already had the GSC West title for men’s basketball in the bag before they beat Christian Brothers 68-54 on Saturday. Tech hit 10 3-pointers in the win.

All games in the 2010 GSC Tournament will be played at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven.
