The Arkansas Tech University Health and Wellness Center will offer an American Heart Association basic life support Heartsaver CPR class for members of the campus community on Friday, Oct. 13.
The class will begin at 9 a.m. and last until approximately 1 p.m. The training is open to all Arkansas Tech faculty, staff and students.
“This class is designed to teach the lay person the basic skills needed to accurately perform CPR and how to correctly use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator),” said Becky Gray, director of health services at Arkansas Tech. “Each participant will receive a student manual and a card certifying that they are certified and proficient in performing CPR.”
Cost for the class is $20 per participant, which covers the cost of the manual and certifying card. There are a limited number of spaces available in the training due to American Heart Association guidelines. Additional classes will be offered at later dates.
Call (479) 968-0329 or send e-mail to rgray12@atu.edu to reserve space in the Oct. 13 CPR class. Details about location will be provided at the time of registration.
