Holiday Inn Express and Suites of Russellville took the top overall prize in the 2019 Paint the Town Green and Gold (PTTGG) storefront decorating contest sponsored by the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce and Arkansas Tech University.
It was the second consecutive win for Holiday Inn Express and Suites of Russellville, which will maintain possession of the PTTGG traveling trophy for another year.
The annual initiative invites local businesses and non-profit organizations to show their support for ATU by decorating their buildings in a Tech theme.
Winners were announced during the Paint the Town Green and Gold Festival, which took place on Thursday, Sept. 12, at Depot Park in Russellville Downtown.
Winners in other categories included:
- Best First Time Entry: Superfast Lube and Oil
- Tech Pride Award: Arvest Bank
- Best Indoor Theme: Pope County Library
- Best Outdoor Theme: First State Bank Downtown
- Most Creative: Bank of England
- People’s Choice Award: Holiday Inn Express and Suites
The awards were presented by Angela Bonds, director of government affairs and leadership at the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce, and Kara Dickens, Miss Arkansas Tech University 2019.
This year marked the fourth annual Paint the Town Green and Gold Week.
Arvest, Sherwood Urgent Care and Textbook Brokers were the 2019 Paint the Town Green and Gold sponsors.
