Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville will host its spring 2023 Human Library on Friday, April 14, from 1-3 p.m. in room 300B.
“The Human Library is, in the true sense of the word, a library of people,” reads a portion of the website for The Human Library, which began in Denmark in the spring of 2000. “We host events where readers can borrow human beings serving as open books and have conversations they would not normally have access to. Every human book from our bookshelf, represents a group in our society that is often subjected to prejudice, stigmatization or discrimination because of their lifestyle, diagnosis, belief, disability, social status, ethnic origin, etc.”
The event is free and open to the public.
