Arkansas Tech University President Dr. Robin E. Bowen has accepted a letter of resignation from Michael V. Hutchison, vice president for advancement at ATU and executive vice president of the ATU Foundation, effective Jan. 31, 2019.
Hutchison joined the Arkansas Tech administration on March 1, 2016, after previously working in development and advancement roles at Millsaps College (2012-16), Hendrix College (2007-12), Texas A&M University-Commerce (2005-07) and Austin College (1998-2005).
“We appreciate Vice President Hutchison’s almost three years of service at Arkansas Tech University,” said Bowen. “We accomplished many goals during this time, including increased giving, tightened policies and increased staffing in the division. I have full confidence in our Division of Advancement moving forward. Our capable staff and volunteers, including the ATU Foundation Board of Directors and the ATU Alumni Association Board, will sustain our development activities in support of student success.”
Bryan Fisher, associate vice president for development, will assume the duties of interim vice president effective Feb. 1, 2019, while the university plans and executes a search to identify its next vice president for advancement.
