Arkansas Tech International and Multicultural services held a summer camp for students from two Chinese high schools July 13-23. While on the Arkansas Tech campus students stayed in a residence hall, attended seminars and classes and ate in Chambers Cafeteria.
Campers also had the opportunity to attend a genuine American BBQ at Lake Dardanelle State Park, visit the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock and watch an Arkansas Travelers’ baseball game in Little Rock. They also visited Silver Dollar City and shopped in Branson, Mo.
Director Yasushi Onodera said that the camp was a huge success and campers really enjoyed all the activities. After leaving Tech, part of the group went to visit a school on the East coast and another group went to California.
Onodera said they have already heard from students saying that they miss Arkansas Tech and want to return.
