Arkansas Tech University hosted two educational leaders for the State of Arkansas at its Russellville campus on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
Johnny Key, secretary of education for the State of Arkansas and commissioner of the Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education, and Dr. Maria Markham, director of the Arkansas Division of Higher Education, received a university update, toured campus, posed for a photograph with Jerry the Bulldog, ATU campus ambassador, and attended a lunch meeting with members of the ATU executive council.
ATU representatives who welcomed Key and Markham to campus included Dr. Robin E. Bowen, president; Bruce Sikes, chancellor of ATU-Ozark Campus; Dr. Mary B. Gunter, chief of staff in the ATU Office of the President; and Ashley Golleher, ATU director of government relations.
Arkansas Tech is beginning its 110th academic year. The university serves more than 12,000 students on campuses in Russellville and Ozark.
