Dr. Justin Killingsworth, Arkansas Tech University associate professor of agricultural education, has been appointed interim head of the ATU Department of Agriculture and Tourism.
He succeeds Dr. Michael Bradley, who became dean of the ATU College of Research and Graduate Studies as of Jan. 1.
Killingsworth has been a member of the ATU faculty since 2011. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree from Texas A&M University. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree at the University of Missouri.
A graduate of Leadership Tech cohort three, Killingsworth later gave back to the on-campus professional development program as a group facilitator.
He received the 2022 Cupola Award, which is administered by the ATU Division of Student Affairs. According to the criteria for the Cupola Award, it is presented on an annual basis to an Arkansas Tech employee who has “gone above and beyond to deliver the highest standard of service for students and deserves to be recognized for consistently striving to achieve excellence.”
Killingsworth has played a central role in hosting Future Farmers of America conferences on campus and has represented ATU at agriculture-related events around the state during his time on the Arkansas Tech faculty.
