Game One: East Central 3, Arkansas Tech 2 East Central pitcher Ali Manship scattered six hits over seven innings in a 3-2 Lady Tigers’ victory over Arkansas Tech in game one of Sunday’s doubleheader. Manship (12-3) walked four, but she did not allow a Golden Suns’ base runner to advance beyond first base while protecting a one-run lead over the final two innings. Cassady Haworth, Whitney Robinson, Siarra Gomez, Nikki Nail, Ashley Keen and Natalie Magie had one base hit apiece for Arkansas Tech. Robinson and Gomez both drove in a run. Arkansas Tech starter Victoria Huie (14-10) was the losing pitcher. She allowed three runs, two of which were earned, on four hits over seven innings. Game Two: East Central 2, Arkansas Tech 0 Brianna Nunley pitched her first shutout of the season to lead East Central to a 2-0 win over Arkansas Tech in the series finale on Sunday afternoon. Nunley (10-5) allowed eight hits. She struck out five and walked one. Chelsea Patterson and Leah Tigert had two hits apiece for the Lady Tigers. Tigert and Autumn Suydam both drove in a run. Robinson went 3-for-3 at the plate for Arkansas Tech. Keen and Jessica Black had two hits apiece. Carlie Caruthers (0-1), who was making her first pitching start of the season for the Golden Suns, held East Central to two runs on eight hits over seven innings. She recorded two strikeouts.]]>
