Brown, the 11th president of Arkansas Tech, announced on Aug. 23 that the 2013-14 academic year will be his last one as active president of the university. He has served in that capacity since 1993. Only J.W. Hull, the eighth president of Arkansas Tech, held the office for a longer tenure. Hull was president of Arkansas Tech from 1932-67.
